Gaping Gill can only be accessed on foot, with the most direct route starting in the village of Clapham, North Yorkshire. Please allow 1.5 to 2 hours for the walk, depending on your fitness.
There is a pay and display car park in Clapham, with public toilets. From there, follow signs to the start of the Ingleborough Cave Nature Trail. The nature trail leads you through a scenic walk to Ingleborough show cave. Beyond this, the walk gets more challenging and may be unsuitable for people with mobility issues or pushchairs. Follow the path up through Trow Gill. After a while, you will come to a double stile on the left hand wall, which leads across the moor to Gaping Gill.
